Ms. Jill Jones
Jill Jones studied vocal performance at NAU. Jill was born and raised in Arizona. She graduated from Campo Verde High School in 2015 with many different musical accolades. She was part of the choir, orchestra, and theatre programs all four years. Since high school, Jill has been a part of the NAU Choral Studies-Women’s Chorale, Shrine of the Ages, Northern Voices and High Altitude Vocal Jazz groups; the all-female A Cappella group, the NAU Axecidentals; NAU’s
Lyric Opera Theatre; and The NAU Symphony. Along with voice, Jill has played cello for over 12 years. She taught at Stringplay, a creative camp for string players ages 12-18. She has traveled around the world for her education. She was most recently a part of the Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers of NAU alum that recorded Michael Hoppe’s Grammy nominated “Peace & Reconciliation: Choral Music”. Jill was given many opportunities to work alongside many professional musicians and learned so much about music and it’s role in the world. She is currently working on her Teaching Certificate to teach choir very soon.
Mrs. Barbara Willey
Barbara Willey grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana. Barb’s first piano teacher was her mother, and she was involved in both band and choir throughout high school and college. Barbara attended the University of Montana in Missoula, where she earned two bachelor degrees – one in piano performance and the other in music education. She always enjoyed accompanying soloists and choirs, so when she was offered a teaching assistantship at ASU she left her beloved Montana and made the move south. She received her master’s in piano accompanying in 1985, and has been a free-lance accompanist in the valley since that time. Barbara and her husband have twin adult sons. She is a dedicated proponent of organ donation and coordinates the blood drives at her church. She enjoys opportunities to volunteer, watching the Cardinals, and spending time with her family and friends.
